Celebrating 20 Years of Consumer Protection at ECC Estonia
Since joining the European Consumer Centres Network, ECC Estonia has been a trusted partner for Estonian consumers in cross-border shopping and travel matters. Our work has contributed to stronger consumer confidence and an enhanced EU internal market.
One of our key achievements is the long-term support provided to consumers in cross-border disputes. The majority of cases concern e-commerce, digital services, travel, event tickets and online marketplaces. Over the years, ECC Estonia has helped numerous consumers find practical, amicable solutions without the need for court proceedings.

A strong voice in Estonian media
ECC Estonia is well recognised in the Estonian media landscape. Through monthly articles, interviews and social media content, we explain consumer rights in a clear and practical way. In particular, we focus on digital markets, cross-border shopping and sustainable consumption, helping consumers navigate an increasingly complex marketplace.
Building strong connections
Close cooperation with national authorities and stakeholders is a cornerstone of ECC Estonia’s work. As part of the Consumer Protection and Technical Regulatory Authority, ECC Estonia combines national expertise with EU-wide cooperation. This position allows us to contribute to effective enforcement, policy discussions and a coherent consumer protection framework in Estonia.
Promoting air passenger and traveller rights in Estonia
ECC Estonia actively raises awareness of air passenger and traveller rights, focusing on common issues such as flight cancellations, delays and denied boarding. Each year, we organise an Air Passenger Rights Awareness Event at Tallinn Airport in cooperation with the Estonian National Enforcement Body (NEB). Meeting travellers directly at the airport allows us to provide practical guidance and answer real-life questions.
Additionally, ECC Estonia participates in the yearly National Tourism Fair. During this event, travellers receive information on package travel, accommodation services and cross-border transport.
These activities are supported by continuous media work and consumer-focused publications throughout the year.
