Open Call: Does Your Business or Research Contribute to Consumer Safety?

13 June 2023

Using smart technology to detect safety issues in playgrounds, an educational campaign for safe tampon use by young teens or promoting pool safety with affordable fences. Does your company or research lead an initiative that increases consumer safety? Apply for the EU Product Safety Award 2023 before 8 September.

EU Product Safety Award

The EU Product Safety Award rewards initiatives that make a positive difference in protecting consumers. This year’s competition aims to make the work of researchers in particular more visible. Whether in their early career or more senior, the award honours researchers who work on consumer safety in different fields such as, but not limited to, law, political science, business, engineering or communication.

As always, companies can also apply. As a continuation of the European Year of Youth, this year’s theme is ‘Safety of teenagers’. Companies can apply if their initiative goes beyond the – already strict – EU consumer safety regulation and aims to increase the safety of teenagers in particular. Think of initiatives that improve the safety of products commonly used by teens, like media equipment, micromobility products, cosmetics or jewellery. Or think of shopping channels often used by teenagers or awareness initiatives for product safety risks faced by teenagers.
